Purchase new and gently used books for all ages and interests from the Friends of the Cedar Rapids Public Library during their big fall book sale. Between the Covers Book Club
If you enjoy reading and good conversation in a relaxed atmosphere, this book group that meets the first Tuesday of each month is for you. Sept. 2: "The God of the Woods" by Liz Moore Oct. 7: "Daisy Jones & The Six" by Taylor Jenkins Reid Nov. 4: "To Kill a Mockingbird" by Harper Lee When a title is a part of a Book Club Kit, it will be ready for pick-up the month before it is discussed. Teen Maker Club
Teens will learn skills related to our Maker Spaces and equipment, such as sewing, the 3D Printer, and an introduction to basic designs using computer software. Each month we will meet twice, and both days will be spent working to complete a single project. Sept. 2 & 16: Learn about circuits and get an introduction to simple design software. Show off your best dip recipe at the library's Dip Recipe Swap! Bring a sample (approximately a quart) of your favorite homemade dip and item to serve with the dip, along with a copy of the recipe.
