EcoFest is happening Saturday, April 26th from 10am - 3pm at NewBo City Market and Cherry Building. This fun event is a celebration of Earth Day with activities for all ages. Come enjoy the day filled with music, alpacas, barnyard animals, raptor presentations, yoga, facepainting, art projects, and climate groups sharing earth friendly, sustainability tips. Free to attend with most activities happening outdoors. From 11-3 ICCGS is hosting Pots, Plants & Prints Artist Market in Cherry Building. Stop by Iowa Ceramics Center & Glass Studios to do hands-on art with the Collaborative Community Sculpture, Clay Wheel Demos and make wild flower seed bombs. 2025-04-11 15:00:00 -0500

Freedom Festival Patriotic Fest
<p>NEW to 2025! The Patriotic Fest will be a full day of fun with a variety of events taking place in the Newbo area! Start your morning off at our <a href="https://www.freedomfestival.com/calendar/cardboard-boat">Cardboard Boat Regatta</a> at Robbins Lake, then make your way down to Newbo/Czech Village for a packed day! We will be kicking off the event with IMAGINATION! Square presented by Tanager Place! This FREE family-friendly event will include interactive booths, hands-on activities, face painting, Freedom Festival trackless train rides, freebies from area organizations, and so much more!</p> <p>Throughout the day, there will be live performances from the Eastern Iowa Arts Academy on the Newbo stage, various food trucks, and a kids zone! Back again in 2025, we will be having <a href="https://www.facebook.com/voltaymaf" target="_blank">Volta Youth Music and Art Festival</a> presented by the Eastern Iowa Arts Academy! Not only will Volta feature live local bands from the area, the performances will also feature youth bands directed by well known local musicians. Volta showcases the talents of young musicians, artists, and performers from across the region. Student artists will also have work on display to view and purchase.</p> <p>Don’t want to be out in the heat all day? No problem! Join us inside Newbo for Build Fest and shopping from local businesses!
