Event Description

In this class you’ll learn how to take better photographs using your film or digital SLR camera. We'll focus on camera controls like aperture and shutter speed, but also touch on composition and finding your subject matter. You’ll have the opportunity to do some practice exercises, get feedback, and have your questions answered in a supportive environment. For those shooting film, we'll walk you through the different film types and development options, and help you practice loading and rewinding film in your camera. *Please let us know what camera you're using when you register. If you'd like to learn about them but don't have an SLR, let us know. We may have one available for you to use during class time. By the end of the class, you’ll have a knowledge base that will help you to take better photographs, and a foundation you can build on for future creative endeavors. If you’re interested in taking the course, but can’t afford a ticket, there are a limited number of spots available for volunteer assistants. Their photographs have been exhibited throughout the United States and internationally.
