Event Description

To celebrate its 50th Anniversary, Preucil Schoool of Music will offer a series of special Alumni and Friends concerts, plus their Annual String Concert with alumni and former faculty as part of the orchestra. The school commissioned Peter Bloesch (PSM '82) to compose a piece for the Preucil School String Orchestra (PSSO) which will be premiered at Hancher Auditorium on February 2, 2025.

The first recital was a violin, viola, and piano trio on September 30 at Voxman Music Building with violinist Alexandra Preucil, violist Antoine Tamestit, and pianist Ksenia Nosikova.

The second recital will feature a young, award-winning string quartet from Juilliard. The Dolphins Quartet, which includes the Preucil's grandson James Preucil, will perform Tuesday, November 19 at 7:30 pm at The Englert theatre. All concerts are free and open to the public. For more information about the 50th Anniversary events and to learn more about the school, see www.preucil.org.
