Event Description

Join Sandy Rosenberger at Prairiewoods (120 East Boyson Road in Hiawatha) for a fun-filled workshop in which we’ll learn the basics of melt-and-pour soapmaking with a glycerin soap base made without hard detergents. We'll also make a beautiful moisturizing glycerin lotion. Both the soap and lotion can be scented with either fragrance oils or essential oils that will be provided. Sandy Rosenberger, Prairiewoods’ development coordinator, has a degree in business administration and marketing from the University of Iowa. She’s worked in hospital telecommunications. was a retail shop owner in Marion and the NewBo District, served as director of volunteers and marketing at a local nonprofit, and was the Linn County master gardener coordinator. Sandy and her husband, Dan, have two grown daughters and spend a lot of time in nature whenever possible at their property in the Driftless area of southwestern Wisconsin. Sandy loves cooking, gardening and going to local farmer’s markets. The cost of this hands-on workshop is $10 and includes all materials. For more information or to register, contact Prairiewoods at www.Prairiewoods.org or 319-395-6700.
