Memorial Day is an American federal holiday, and it lands on May 26th this year. Memorial Day is a way to honor military members who died in the line of duty.
Join the Cedar Rapids community at 10 am, May 26th for a traditional Memorial Day observance that includes an opening prayer, live patriotic music, presentation of the Colors, guest speaker, volley salute, and more. The local area Metro Veterans’ Council facilitates this program each year, with logistic assistance from the Veterans Memorial Commission & Building staff.

**Due to the possibility of rain and chilly winds, the service will no longer be held outside at the Veterans Memorial Park near the Kernel’s Stadium. Instead, head on downtown for the service at 10:00 am at the Veterans Memorial Building Coliseum.
