Event Description

International Observe the Moon Night is Saturday October 4 at 7:30 PM. Cedar Amateur Astronomers welcome Trena Johnson of the Minnesota Astronomical Society to the Eastern Iowa Observatory and Learning Center. If you were ever wanting to know all about the moon, We would love to help you. Let's start your journey with an overview of our natural Satellite. Johnson will talk about the moon’s phases, why we never see all of the far side, when we might return to the lunar surface, and what is the best way to view our moon. Let us journey there together. Weather permitting, after the presentation, CAA members will be operating several of our large telescopes to see the moon and other wonders of the night sky. This event is in person and on Zoom.
