Event Description

Twenty years and ten albums in, Dan Hubbard is letting go, and writing with more weight than ever. The Bloomington, Illinois singer-songwriter makes his first Cedar Rapids appearance at The Ideal Theater & Bar on Thursday, November 12. His latest album, Vol 1: Letting Go, arrived after a life-changing health event reshaped his career and returned him to the page with what he calls the best songs he has ever written. The resume runs deep: Ken Coomer of Wilco produced The Humbling Sea, Ryan Ulyate of Tom Petty's studio produced Sound Investment and Songs In The Key Of Slack, and three Hubbard songs became 2024 International Songwriting Competition semifinalists. This is honest Midwestern songwriting in a room built to listen, with warm light, close seats, and every word landing where it should. Doors 7 PM. Show 8 PM. $16 + fees advance, $23 + fees day of show. All Ages.
